Terms of Use
This site is free to use. Every topic, diagram, question and mark scheme is open to anyone, with or without an account. Creating an account is optional and costs nothing. By using the site you agree to the following terms, which protect the work that goes into it.
Free to use: Nothing on the site is behind a payment. There is no subscription and nothing to buy.
Personal & classroom use: You may use the site for your own revision and with your own students, and print or save pages for your own classes.
No redistribution: You may not copy the site's content into your own publication, resell it, upload it to a publicly accessible server, or distribute it on file-sharing sites.
Copyright: All content — text, diagrams and questions — remains the intellectual property of Revise Direct. The questions are original and written in Cambridge style.
Not affiliated with Cambridge: Revise Direct is an independent revision site. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Cambridge Assessment International Education. “IGCSE”, “AS Level” and the syllabus codes are used only to describe what the content covers. We do not host past papers or mark schemes, as those remain the copyright of Cambridge.
Your account: You need an email address and a password of at least eight characters. You must be at least 13 years old to create one. Keep your password to yourself — anyone who has it can see and change the progress saved to your account. We may suspend an account that is used to abuse the site.
No guarantee of marks: The site is a revision aid. It is checked carefully, but we cannot promise a particular grade, and Cambridge alone decides what is examined.
Privacy Policy
We collect as little as possible. If you never create an account, we hold nothing that identifies you: your progress stays in your own browser and never reaches us.
If you create an account
What we hold: your email address, the first name you optionally give us, a hashed password (we never store the password itself and cannot read it), and your revision progress — which topics you have marked as learning, practised, tested or mastered, your best score on each, and when you last changed it.
Why we hold it (lawful basis): to provide the account you asked for (performance of a contract), and to keep the service secure (legitimate interest). We do not use your data for marketing and we do not profile you.
Who else sees it: nobody. We do not sell, rent or share personal data. The site runs on Hostinger, our hosting provider, which stores the data on our behalf under a data-processing agreement. We use no advertising networks and no third-party trackers beyond the analytics described below, which you can refuse.
How long we keep it: until you delete your account, or until you ask us to. Deleting your account removes your email, name, password hash and progress immediately and permanently — there is no hidden copy. Failed sign-in attempts are recorded for up to 30 minutes (IP address and the email tried) to block password guessing, then discarded.
Security: passwords are hashed with bcrypt, the site is served over HTTPS only, the sign-in cookie cannot be read by JavaScript, and write requests are rejected unless they come from this site.
Your rights: you can see everything we hold on the account page, correct it there, or delete it with one button. You also have the right to a copy of your data and the right to object or complain. Write to contact@revisedirect.com and we will answer within 30 days. If you are in the UK or EU you can also complain to your data-protection regulator — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children: the site is used by school students. Accounts are for ages 13 and over, and we ask for nothing beyond an email address and an optional first name. If you are under 16, please check with a parent, guardian or teacher before creating one.
If you contact us
Contact form and email: we use your name and email address only to reply, and keep the exchange no longer than needed to resolve it. We do not add you to any mailing list.
Analytics: only if you accept it, Google Analytics records page views in aggregate — which pages are visited, rough country, device type. IP addresses are anonymised. Refuse it and no analytics cookie is set at all.
Cookie Policy
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. We use as few as possible, and the site works with none of the optional ones. You can change your choice at any time with the cookie settings link in the footer, or by clearing your browser data.

Google Analytics: counts visits and tells us which topics are used. Never set unless you choose “Accept analytics”.

Essential cookies and storage are what make the site function and remember your progress; they set no identifier that follows you to other sites. Optional analytics is the only thing the notice asks you about, and refusing it costs you nothing — every page, question and mark scheme stays available.
Changes and contact
If we change how the site handles data we will update this page and move the date at the top. Anything that needs your consent will be asked for again.
