The whole syllabus on one page, in Cambridge’s own structure. Every topic links to its revision page, where it is explained, diagrammed and then tested with self-marked exam questions. 10 topics and 78 questions, all free.
Read this before you revise. The paper you are entered for decides which content is examined, so the wrong revision plan wastes weeks.
| Paper | Time | Marks | What it tests |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paper 1 - Computer Systems | 1 h 45 min | 75 marks | Short-answer and structured questions on topics 1-6: data representation, data transmission, hardware, software, the internet and automated and emerging technologies. Half the qualification. AO1, AO2 and AO3. |
| Paper 2 - Algorithms, Programming and Logic | 1 h 45 min | 75 marks | Short-answer and structured questions on topics 7-10: algorithm design and problem-solving, programming, databases and Boolean logic. Half the qualification. AO1, AO2 and AO3. |
| Scenario question (the last question of Paper 2) | about 30 min | 15 marks | An unseen scenario. You write an algorithm using pseudocode or program code for the context given. Knowledge of a language's syntax is not examined: the logic is worth more than the syntax. |
AO1 is recall and understanding. AO2 is applying it to a context. AO3 is practical and investigative skills. The mark schemes on every topic page tag each question AO1 or AO2 so you can see which one you are practising.
